Positivity

Positivity

We as hunters and gun owners are our worst enemy sometimes.  I see it on facebook groups, forums and at the range itself, where different disciplines of our shooting sports can't stand each other.  We are so busy fighting from within our own ranks that we forget that there are groups that truly hate us fjor no other reason than we use firearms and hunt legally and ethically.

With social media growing, hunting pages are flooding our timelines and a majority of them, you'll see someone attacking another person. Brand shaming is a real thing.  Those who call names or speak ill of a product that they never tried is very prevalent today and its sad.

I witnessed a few of these last week and thought long and hard on the subject.  Why would someone spend their energy on talking down to someone else, bad mouthing another company that you know nothing about, never had that product in their hands?  I truly feel sorry for people who are so insecure with themselves that they have to take out their anger or hatred on another person or brand. If not insecure, its jealousy.

I now have a new appreciate for fellow hunters and humans. I decided to be happy for the person who could only afford a $400 AR or who saved up to buy the lower end scope.  Be joyful for anyone pursuing their hobby and dreams.  Run what you have, if it works, use it!  Be positive and not look down on someone because they can't afford what you might have.

With that said, I started a new facebook group called "Hang Fur", where we could talk about predator hunting, rifles and gear for that purpose without fearing someone is going to judge you for what you have.  A community to help others, give our experiences and learn something new.  A place to talk and listen about different techniques, different strategies and most of all, come together as a group.

Lets all make a conscious effort to be positive, turn away from the negative posts and not jump on the bandwagon just to get a jab in.

Positivity goes a long way, makes you feel better and gains the respect of your peers.  Remember to go outdoors and do the things you love. After all its free.
